Installation steps

Wait for the download to finish

The file is named AppHalt.dmg. Check your Downloads folder or browser toolbar.

Open the DMG file

Double-click AppHalt.dmg to mount it. A Finder window will open.

Drag AppHalt to Applications

Drag the AppHalt icon into the Applications folder shortcut shown in the window.

Launch AppHalt from Applications

Open Finder, go to Applications, and double-click AppHalt to launch it. It will appear in your menu bar.

Handle the macOS security prompt

If macOS says it cannot verify the app, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway".

macOS security notice: AppHalt is distributed outside the Mac App Store. macOS may show a warning the first time you open it. This is normal - follow step 5 to open it safely. AppHalt does not modify system processes and requires no special permissions beyond what it shows you.
